The Parks and Community Services Department is dedicated to improving the community by providing creative recreational programs, high-quality parks and facilities, and services that promote social, physical, and emotional health.
The Parks and Community Services Department offers a wide range of high-quality leisure facilities, programs, and services to Costa Mesa residents. The Downtown Aquatics Center and the Costa Mesa Senior Center are two of the department’s three community centers. The department provides youth, teen, and adult recreation classes, as well as assigns and supervises athletic field use. The Animal Services Division, as well as the operating agreements for the Costa Mesa Golf and Country Club and the Costa Mesa Tennis Center, are all managed by the department.
Park and facility bookings, special event permits, model aircraft fly permits, animal licensing, community gardening, and recreation programs and activities are all managed by our staff. The Parks, Arts & Community Services Commission, the Fairview Park Steering Committee, the Animal Services Committee, the Cultural Arts Committee, and the Historical Preservation Committee all receive assistance from staff.
